FAQs

How many days per week should I train?

The answer really depends on your personal goals. The recommendation for general fitness is at least 30 minutes of moderate work 5 days per week (150 minutes weekly), or at least 25 minutes of vigorous aerobic work 3 days per week (75 minutes weekly). Once we beat your goal, we'll set new ones to stay engaged and focused during training.

What should I eat before and after training?

Nutrition is a big part to make sure you’re ready to put in some work. Your preferences for food are likely as varied as your preferences for exercise, so find what works best for you. I highly recommend avoiding fried and/or fatty foods before training. Eat larger pre-workout meals a few hours before exercising. Try a snack-sized portion about an hour before working out. I'm a fan of bananas, oatmeal, protein shakes, and some protein or fruit bars. Just be mindful and consider whether or not what you eat will fuel your workout, or hinder your progress and how.

How long will it take me to get a six pack?

Abs are a combination of great genetics and proper nutrition. A low BMI (body mass index) will help put your hard work on display. Unfortunately we technically cannot pick our muscles and spot check. Fortunately you have control over what you eat and the work you put in to achieve results. In a nutshell, the leaner you are the more likely your ab work will show.

Can I train with others?

Training with others is a GREAT idea as partners share goals, make you accountable, and may even increase your competitive drive. I have couple and small group programs available for up to 15 people. Group training is also a great way to find confidence with others who share the desire to exercise. Get a partner involved and it will save you money, too!

Where will we train?

We can train anywhere! If your fitness membership allows you to bring your own personal trainer, let’s go! We can workout at your residential or neighborhood facility, or we can find a local park or field to workout. I’m here to show you how to be fit anytime and anywhere, and I’ll empower you with some techniques to help make it easy.

Are you qualified to be a personal trainer?

Absolutely! I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Trainer since 2018. The ACE Certification program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) which establishes the standard for professional certification programs. My certification renews every two years AFTER completing the required continuing education (CE) units, AND renewing my CPR/AED certification. I also have fitness instructor liability insurance secured to ensure our protection in any training environment. Lastly, I’m here to help make a difference in your life. Stick with me for awhile and instead of changing who you are, let’s change a few habits. Then you can tell me!

What are your personal training rates?

Personal training rates vary based on the type of program desired, duration of each session, and the number of weekly sessions. Visit the Services page for a description of programs and available packages. You may also use the Training Survey to describe your needs and send to me for more info.

How do you accept payments?

I gladly accept cash payments, or those via PayPal for your convenience. At this time, I do not accept checks or money orders. Make a payment here!
